How the the Gaming Market has changed over the years?

Due to changes in customer behaviour and interests as well as technology improvements, the gaming market has seen significant changes over time.

Atari, Nintendo, and Sega were some of the home gaming systems popular in the early days of gaming when most video games were played in arcades. Legendary video games like Super Mario Bros., Sonic the Hedgehog, and The Legend of Zelda rose to prominence throughout the 8-bit and 16-bit era of gaming in the 1980s and 1990s, and home systems evolved, gaining better visuals and sound as well as the ability to save progress.

With the expansion of internet gaming and the introduction of mobile gaming in the 2000s, the gaming industry saw a significant change. Mobile gaming made gaming more accessible than ever, with straightforward, inexpensive games available on smartphones and tablets. Online gaming enabled gamers to interact with each other and play together from anywhere in the world. Games like Candy Crush, World of Warcraft, and Call of Duty grew immensely popular. At the same time, new gaming consoles like the PlayStation 2, 3, and 4, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, and Wii provided more advanced gaming experiences.

Virtual reality and augmented reality technologies, which provided immersive gaming experiences that were more realistic and involved than ever before, helped the gaming industry continue to advance throughout the 2010s. Professional gamers participating in international tournaments for prize money worth millions of dollars is known as esports, which has become a significant phenomenon. Small, independent game creators were able to produce and release their own games to a worldwide audience thanks to the growth of indie game development and digital distribution channels like Steam and the App Store.

The gaming industry is a multi-billion dollar one nowadays, and players may choose from a huge variety of gaming platforms, genres, and technology. The gaming business continues to push the envelope of what is possible and offer fresh and cutting-edge gaming experiences to players of all ages and backgrounds, from vintage console games and mobile apps to virtual reality experiences and esports events.

The rise in popularity of free-to-play games and microtransactions is another significant shift in the gaming industry. These games, which are frequently playable on mobile devices, appeal to gamers with their straightforward gameplay and addictive nature. Players can buy in-game products, skins, or boosts to improve their gaming experience, but they also rely on microtransactions to make money.

We may anticipate more developments and adjustments in the gaming market as it develops further. While emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning have the potential to completely change the way games are created and played, the rise of cloud gaming and game streaming services like Google Stadia and Microsoft xCloud promises to make gaming more accessible than ever. The gaming industry is certain to enthral gamers and influence the direction of entertainment for years to come since it has so great potential for expansion and innovation.

I feel the industry will boom further down the line with so many technological advances in the computer and gaming sector. There are new games released each and every day and so many people also follow the gamers or streamers on websites like Twitch/ Youtube or places like Facebook Gaming.
Gaming provides an escape to many people. It's like Virtual Reality where you are playing as a character in an imaginary world, upgrading yourself for survival. Wait a minute it does sound like real life ?! 😶

Anyways we'll be back with a new story till then enjoy life and feel free to share your thoughts.
